Discover and identify Germany’s most frequently observed insects — powered by NABU.
NABU – Insektenwelt introduces you to the colourful diversity of Germany’s most frequently observed insects. Sunbird and the NGO NABU Deutschland created this app to help you identify species quickly and easily with integrated automatic photo recognition. After taking a picture, you can move directly from the results list to a detailed species portrait. In addition, the app includes a registration feature developed for NABU’s nationwide “Insektensommer” campaign, which invites nature lovers to record insects during two survey periods in July and August. Although the NABU Insektenwelt app is currently no longer available in the stores, it remains an important project for raising awareness of Germany’s insect biodiversity.
